Joey attended Kansas State University where he graduated with honors receiving a degree in Mechanical Engineering in May 1984. He began a 10 year career with Koch Industries first as a Division Engineer in Oklahoma, then as a Senior Engineer and Interim Engineering Manager in their head office in Wichita, Kansas. Joey consulted in the design, construction and operation of crude oil, refined products, LPG and anhydrous ammonia pipelines and terminals in the US, Canada and South America. In 1994 Joey returned to production agriculture on his family farm outside Hiawatha, Kansas. He continued to consult and ran a private engineering consulting business until joining the staff of RCI in 2000. In 2002, Joey was named Manager of Environmental Services and is in charge of personnel, product development and marketing for RCI's environmental services.
Joey has extensive experience in the energy and agricultural industries from a design, regulatory affairs and business development perspective. He has worked with ethanol, biodiesel, and fertilizer manufacturers as well as water treatment plants on process safety and risk management issues. He is adept in air and water permitting, design and installation of AST's for flammable and combustible liquids, SPCC plans, solid and hazardous waste, and SARA III reporting. He is also a STI certified tank inspector. Joey works closely with RCI business development to craft common sense applications that meet the needs of clients.
